Happy Birthday Grandma!

While Grandpa & Grandma were visiting... we were able to celebrate Grandma's birthday with her. Very good friends of our family from all the way back to the days when I was little were able to visit us too. We went out to the Oasis to celebrate. It was a gorgeous March day which was well due after the oddly long and cool winter here. What a great time we had!

SNOW DAY!!!

We had a true snowy day for the Austin area today. Madi and Drew built a snowman that was actually decent size for this part of the country. Unfortunately I couldn't find my gloves so this was as big as my hands could stand. :-) We also made snow angels... they threw snowballs... at me before I left for preschool and apparently at the windows when I was gone. Here they are rolling snowballs...

(Sorry -- this post is out of order... one day I will add the pictures in correctly)... This was our first snowman attempt. He wasn't quite as big and sadly... after 20+ years of living in Wisconsin and building snowmen... I totally forgot how to make one. Good thing I figured it out before the second one that was above. Madi wanted a third but Drew and I were pretty well "snowed" out. Good thing this only happens once in a blue moon here! :-)

Here was the snow coming down by our house... Most had melted when this snow came in. The snow earlier in the day that I didn't get pictures of had some of the biggest snowflakes coming down that I had ever seen. CRAZY!!!!

New haircut & My sweet little Brewer fan

Thanks Auntie TT for the super cool shirt. It is so fun that Drew is such a big Brewer's fan. He is loving his #99 shirt!
Drew was all excited to get his haircut. He wanted it cut short. We were so used to Drew having his hair the other way... I am sure it will take a little getting used to.

Precious Moments

Funny enough this is not an unusual moment... just the first time I managed to capture it. Often times when Madi and Drew are stuck in the same bed, Drew ends up using Madi as a pillow. This was at Grandpa and Grandma's house... Believe it or not they had a huge bed to lay in and Drew still ends up using his favorite pillow. So cute -- I will miss these days when they are gone.

Christmas Eve and Reindeer Food

Grabbed a quick snap of Madi and Drew before we left for church on Christmas Eve. They were so excited that it was "snowing" outside.
We came home and ate dinner and then went to put reindeer food out. It was so cold and I am amazed Drew still had pants on. I have learned that my kiddos hate wearing pants, long sleeves and sweatshirts. They are defintiely Texas kids. Only problem... Texas has been COLD this winter.

Holiday Performances

This is Madi's first year of doing jazz. Their dance was so cute. I am looking forward to the Spring recital. I, sadly, did not get any pictures of her ballet dance. Seriously... I do not know what is wrong with my lack of motivation to take pictures.... Thanks to all our great friends that came out to watch!

The ever so important after dance snacks!!! I think that might be the most exciting!

Back tracking a bit... Christmas Shopping Fun!

I have not taken the pictures off of my camera since before Christmas... sadly there weren't a lot of pictures on there but here we go anyhow trying to catch up...

Marty has the best memories of his dad taking him and his sister shopping for their mom's Christmas presents. He now has the tradition of taking the kids Christmas shopping for me. He then takes them back to a conference room at the office after shopping. They have pizza, watch movies and wrap presents. The kids love this and I think it is really sweet.
