Happy 4th of July from St. Lucia

We spent the 4th of July away from home this year... No fireworks which was okay by Drew anyhow! We did a snorkeling trip for the morning. Poor Madi got sick on the drive there but was all good by the time we made it. Here are the lucky fish that were fed by us and would come right to shore and surround you for the bread. We fed the fish first and then snorkeled...

Madi of course has it all down by now and was so ecstatic that we found her a pink snorkel, mask and fins!

The sky was beautiful that night when we left our room for dinner... silly me had packed all our 4th of July attire yet still forgot to wear it!

Playing Chess

Madi and Drew had so much fun with the giant chess board. We did this the first few nights until the mosquito bites were multiplying and then no more...

Mini Waterpark

The resort had a mini waterpark (a lazy river and 2 waterslides). We spent a lot of time here having races around the lazy river and just lounging. And plenty of trips up and down the waterslides.

Beach By The Resort

We ended up on the Atlantic side of the island which meant some waves and seaweed.... The land in the distance and the rocks in the water added a scenic touch though. We still enjoyed the beach a few times. Especially to get some fun pictures...

Off the back side of our room was lush green and mountainous areas.

We also had a bird laying on her eggs in her nest right out of our room. We seem to attract these.

Almost forgot this one...

I really need to document all of Drew's facial expressions this trip in one post just for a good long laugh... for myself at least. He has definitely been expressing his "character" so far. This picture under the water is one of my favorites though. I love it! :)

We finally made it...

Flight to St. Lucia from Miami is an estimated three and a half hours... that is if a generator doesn't break on the airplane. One of the three generators broke on our airplane mid flight causing us to have to land in Puerto Rico where there was someone to fix it. Better to be safe than sorry... and six hours later... we did finally make it to St. Lucia!
