Baby Sea Turtles are the coolest!!!

This was our only full day on Key Biscayne... Madi and Drew were all ready to get out there.

The beach was a must in the morning... it was really pretty. The best part was there were 2 sea turtle nests at the top of the beach and this little guy... ventured out to find the ocean for the first time right aside of where we were playing. So cute!

Below was the fountain lit up at night. I am a sucker for any lighted objects at night. This place was amazing for that. Nice lit "street type" lamps lit up the property as well as torches that were lit at night around the pool. The night swims were so much fun.

We were seriously spoiled here and it was hard to leave but St. Lucia was awaiting us!

Checking out the new place...

Second stop was on the Key Biscayne near Miami. The resort we were at was incredible. We all could have stayed there for awhile. Here was the view from the window in our room.

Madi and Drew checking out the fountain with Daddy...

... and of course we can't forget to check out the beach!

Dowtown Disney

We stopped off at Downtown Disney to have a little fun before we headed back in the car for a drive. We had lunch at T-Rex Cafe first... Then it was off to the Lego Store where Madi and Drew built and raced their Lego cars and then picked out all sorts of different legos to fill their little container...
A little more shopping and off to the car...

Sabbatical 2010 Stop #1

We officially made it. Stop #1... one night in Orlando, FL near Downtown Disney. This is pretty much just a catch up stop. Got to swim... catch up on sleep... and get a little Downtown Disney fun in before we get back in the car again tomorrow. Madi and Drew are so excited in our room that they don't want to leave it and they want to stay here longer. They have their own little room inside our room with a fun little window, complete walls, a desk and their own TV to watch their shows and the best yet... really cool bunk beds! I have to say I would have been pretty excited with this as a kid too!
Hanging out on the bunk bed and checking it all out. (Ignore our gross clothes and hair... we literally just got in the room after about 17 hours straight in the car)
Madi getting her posing in.

Drew at the desk by the TV... He has been sticking his tongue out in most every picture so far. We may see a lot of Drew's tongue this trip.

Marty in the pool. We had to test out the underwater camera... Unlike the "other one" -- this one actually allowed me to copy the pictures to a computer! YAY!!!

Madi in the pool!

SABBATICAL

So anyone that has known Marty for any amount of time but especially since he started working at Intel has heard about his sabbatical. For those that have been with us in the last couple of weeks... they are sick of hearing him say he is on sabbatical. Well as I was "rudely" corrected today when I asked the kids how the first day of sabbatical was... Marty has been on sabbatical for 1 week now but today marked the first official day of our sabbatical trip. We left yesterday evening around 5:45p.m. and we made it to Orlando, FL around 10:30 this morning. Marty is superstar driver and drove the whole way... So as he is now passed out sleeping... I figured it was a good time to catch up a couple of posts and to start the sabbatical posts. I hope to update this whenever I have downtime and an Internet connection so that you can follow us along our way... Enjoy!

Dance Recital 2010

Madi's recital was on June 16th 2010... She danced with her jazz class and ballet class. For jazz they danced to Gitchee Gitchee Goo from the show Phineas and Ferb. For ballet they danced to The Ellie Badge from the movie Up. They did awesome. Lots of pictures to follow and I still hope to get pictures of her in each of her costumes to follow later! :)Getting ready for jazz at rehearsal.

On the stage rehearsing ballet.

All ready to leave for recital... jazz was first!

After recital, with her pretty roses.

Drew's Birthday Morning

Happy Birthday Drew!!! Drew celebrated his 4th birthday on the same day as Madi's dance recital. Therefore, we had to start his birthday off right away in the morning! He got to wake up to a big chocolate cupcake for breakfast.

Next he got to open some extra presents before his party the next weekend. He got a camera which he was so excited about. He spent most of the rest of the day taking pictures of everyone, everything and anything! :) He also got some baseball jammies a Prince Fielder Brewer shirt, $4 for being 4 and later on that evening he got some special Monster Trucks from his super sweet friends!
